Alcune sorprese, l'Oscar ad Interstellar per gli effetti visivi, quando piuttosto accreditata era la vittoria delle scimmie e del loro pianeta e quello come miglior attore ad Eddie Redmayne per La teoria del tutto. L'attore, grazie alla sua interpretazione di Stephen Hawking, ha sbaragliato la concorrenza di Michael Keaton e di Benedict Cumberbatc. Piccola sorpresa per gli scommettitori, ma non per la gente di buon senso, il miglior film d'animazione (fatto fuori alle preselezioni Lego Movie, più per un problema di pubblicità occulta, ma neanche tanto direi, che altro) è stato Big Hero 6. Disney e Marvel portano a casa il loro primo Oscar congiunto e lasciano a secco Dragon Trainer 2.
Patricia Arquette per Boyhood e J.K. Simmons in Whiplash sono i Migliori attori non protagonisti. Se la prima appariva piuttosto semplice da azzeccare, dispiace un po' per gli altri quattro candidati, ma questo era davvero un girone di ferro.
Scontato, ma meritato, a quanto dicono coloro che hanno visto il film, l'Oscar come migliore attrice a Julianne Moore.
Atteso e sperato, anche se non ho ancora visto il film, quello per Miglior film. Come da speranza, neanche tanto recondita, è andato a Birdman. Snobbato a Venezia, premiato in tutto il mondo, ha visto riconosciuto il suo valore nella notte più importante. Spiace per Michael Keaton, che non vince la statuetta come Miglior attore protagonista, ma il film porta a casa anche Miglior Sceneggiatura Originale, fotografia e l'altro premio pesante della serata: Miglior regia a Alejandro G. Iñárritu.
Alla fine i due film più attesi si sono spartiti il grosso dei premi. Birdman porta a casa quattro statuette così come The Grand Budapest Hotel, ma sorprende Whiplash che li tallona con tre (oltre a quella per il miglior attore non protagonista si merita anche i premi tecnici per sonoro e montaggio).
Niente premi per i supereroi di casa Marvel (sia Marvel che Fox) in lista nella stessa categoria con tre film Capitan America, I Guardiani della Galassia ed X-Men Giorni di un futuro passato che lasciano l'Oscar, come detto, ad Interstellar. Il film di Nolan, troppo difficile e complicato per l'americano medio, raccoglie, anche al solo livello di nomination, meno di quanto avrebbe meritato.
Ed è finita. Anche quest'anno ce l'abbiamo fatta. Inizia, da oggi, la spasmodica attesa per le prossime nomination e la prossima Serata degli Oscar.
